Oh dear. I totally failed my duty of care for this poor fellow this winter. He somehow got stuck in a corner of my tiny conservatory and I neglected to water him enough. Serious TLC is needed. I’ve already removed the dead leaves (there were lots) and the obviously dead twigs – anything that doesn’t look like it will sprout again. He’s had a good water and is now in the sunniest corner of the garden. In a week or so I’ll add some citrus fertiliser and maybe re-pot with plenty of drainage and a little bit of manure.
I’ll be revisiting the poor chap over the months to see whether he can be revived, along with everything I try.
BTW I don’t actually know his name. It’s a citrus beginning with M, has little (edible but horrid) orange fruits about the size of kumquats, but I’ve lost the label. If I find it, I’ll post it here. In the meanwhile, this is hospital corner.
UPDATE: June 25th. 2016
I’m delighted to say the citrus continues to do well. It’s got new leaves coming (though not at the lower end yet) and it has a mass of flowers:
