Great Autumn Roundup – Blackberry Black Cascade

This was a trial on a new, trailing variety of thornless blackberry, catalogued here. The reasons why they never reached any further than above are also catalogued, but overall, I’ve very pleased with these plants.

My allotment pal Paul suggested we save space by hanging them in the strawberry cage. Currently this is working, though if the trails become too long they might overshadow the strawbs; I’ll need to check this.

Generally though, I am please with these plants. I think next year should be very interesting indeed.
